В работе рассматривается вопрос об отношении буддийских монастырей и государственной власти на территории современной Бурятии (Россия) и в Китае в периоды распространения буддизма. Показано, что, несмотря на имеющиеся различия в рассматриваемых обществах, отношения буддийских монастырей и государственной власти демонстрируют подчиненное положение буддийской религии.

The article deals with the issue of the relations between the Buddhist monasteries and the state power in the territories of modern Buryatia (Russia) and China during the periods of the penetration of Buddhism. It is demonstrated that in spite of the differences in the societies under consideration the relations between the Buddhist monasteries and the state power indicate the subordinate position of the Buddhist religion.
