В статье предпринимается попытка объяснить истоки возникновения традиционной культуры и религии. Дается характеристика шаманизма как наиболее архаичной формы религии, описывается значимость его изучения для развития культурологической, этнографической и теологической наук. Обозначается огромная значимость шаманизма в традиционной культуре бурят. Дается оценка разработанности данной проблематики в трудах этнографов, историков, культурологов. Обосновывается важность изучения бурятского шаманизма для более глубокого понимания генезиса традиционной и религиозной культур вообще и для рефлексии и идентификации бурятского этноса в частности.
SHAMANISM AND ITS PLACE IN TRADITIONAL CULTURE OF THE BURYATS

The article attempts to explain the origins of the emergence of traditional culture and religion. Shamanism is described as the most archaic form of religion, the significance of its study for the development of cultural studies, ethnography and theology is described. The great importance of shamanism in the traditional culture of the Buryats is indicated. An assessment of the development of this problem in the works of ethnographers, historians, and culturologists is given. The author substantiates the importance of studying Buryat shamanism for a deeper understanding of the genesis of traditional and religious cultures in general and for the reflection and identification of the Buryat ethnos in particular.
